2DW Update: Spring 2019

Dearest friends, summer is literally just around the corner, and we are embarrassingly overdue for an update!

It’s been awhile, we know.

See, the thing is, the year got off to a bit of an unexpected start. The two of us joined up in mid-January for our first return to production following the busy-ness of the holiday season. After getting home from a productive afternoon of bottling and labelling, Megan decided to split a few logs in order to start a fire and get the house warmed up. Long story short, there was an unfortunate accident involving a newly-purchased (and extra sharp) axe that resulted in emergency orthopaedic surgery and two months recovery parked on the sofa (word to the wise: be extra careful chopping wood, friends).

It was a challenging experience, to say the very least, but on the flip side, it once again highlighted—in a very big, bold, neon-letters kind of way—the incredible advantage of our partnership and the ability of being able to count on one another's support when things don’t go quite as planned. Instead of everything coming to a grinding halt like it very much otherwise could have, Brenda was able to keep production and deliveries well and rolling on her end, while I (gradually) did what I could to maintain the digital side of things. (Seriously, y'all, can we get a shout-out for Brenda! )

It wasn’t quite the start to the new year we’d envisioned, but we managed pretty decently in spite of the circumstances. In fact, we were even able to accomplish some pretty cool things over the past few months…

With the year now nearly halfway over (how, even?), we’re looking forward to getting back to our usual pace.

But first (heh), we’re working on relocating our production space from Colwood back to View Royal, into an almost-finished dedicated home studio. As much as we’ve loved our little cottage, the new studio will give us much more room to brew up magic and expand the amount of finished inventory we’re able to keep on hand, as well as provide more ease for local pick-ups. We’ll be sure to post photos once we’re settled in and down to business!

In the meantime, we've been asked a few times whether we’ll be attending any markets this season.

Last spring was when we decided to try out a range of local events and, for the most part, things went wonderfully well – we have a few favourites down that you can definitely expect to see us at again!

We also learned a lot in the process, most notably, that natural, hand-crafted self-care products do not fare well in the heat of the summer sun (imagine our shock the first time we discovered our precious creations rapidly liquefying, gahhh!).

This is a big consideration for us when it comes to spring and summer markets, as we want to ensure you’re receiving the best version of our products possible. So, for this reason, the only event we currently have scheduled is the upcoming June 22 Summer Crafted, Vintage & Re-Inspired Makers Market in lovely Cobble Hill – come see us indoors between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Cobble Hill Community Hall!

Otherwise, you can always check our Facebook Events page to see if we have anything more planned!

You’ll also want to stay tuned to our Facebook and Instagram pages for some pretty fabulous upcoming sales over at our website – we’ll be featuring regular promotions all through the season, like our recent “buy one, get one half off” sale on our Fountain of Youth Nourishing Under Eye Cream - you don't want to miss these!

And remember, our products are carried by a number of fantastic stockists across the island! Visit our website at https://twodrunkwitches.com/pages/stockists for more details (and, if you have a shop in mind you think we’d be a good fit for, don’t hesitate to drop us a line!).

On that note, we want to extend our gratitude to you, as always, for your continued feedback and support. We’re not exaggerating even the tiniest bit when we say that every single kind word, every purchase, every gesture of support, means so very much to us.

From our hearts to yours, thank you, dear friends and fellow witches!
